Roller Derby Summer Camp - Summer 2024

Does your kid love to skate?  Thinking about joining derby this fall - or do you have a returning skater who is looking to level up this year?  Then Summer Camp is for you!

Intro to Derby (7 yo - 17yo)

Skaters MUST be comfortable on skates to attend this class.  We consider "comfortable" to mean your skater can easily stand, stride forward, and stop without assistance.   In this class we will cover the basics of roller derby play, derby positions, forward crossovers, transitions, backward skating, and stops.  All skaters will need full protective gear to include helmet, elbow and knee pads, wrist guards, mouthguard and quad style roller skates (no inline skates).

Level Up Readiness Camp

Skaters must have played roller derby (either with Tomorrowland JRD or another league) to take this session and have good control of forward/backward skating, crossovers, stops and basic derby rules.  In this session, we will focus on legal contact zones, hitting, advanced footwork, and strategy.
